Marin Adult Singles. Sunday, November 9th 10 a.m. Mass and Tour of the new Cathedral of Christ the Light, Oakland. The Cathedral at the cost of $150 million dollars was recently consecrated as the new Cathedral of Oakland.

Valley Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service, Sunday, November 23rd,4 p.m. at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center. This year, the event is hosted by Gan HaLev – the Jewish Congregation. “A simple message of thanks – >we are all in community together”. Please consider donations of cash or checks (payable to SGVCC) or turkeys, hams for the Community Center’s annual Thanks giving Food Distribution, helping more than 100 local families who are in need.

 

Annual Paris Christmas Party, Friday, December 5th. Hospitality 6 p.m., Dinner 7 p.m., Entertainments 8 p.m.  This is one of our church events where a good turnout is expected so that it is truly a parish celebration.  Already great plans are underway to make Incarnation.  Any person wishing to be a part of the entertainment, contact Fr. O'. Check sign-up sheet at the church for food assignments according to alphabetical order.

St Mary's 1000 daffodil bulbs to be planted, December 7th, after 11:15 Mass.  We need all the working hands we can get.  Bring gloves and a trowel.

 

 

Immaculate Conception Feast Day, Monday, December 8th, is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass will be at St. Cecilia's 7:15 p.m.  No 8 a.m. Mass that morning.

Presentation on the Eucharist, Thursday, December 11th, 7:15 p.m.  Fr. O', at St. Cecilia's Parish Hall.  The Sacramental Theologians have so theologized the Eucharist that people no longer know what they are doing at Eucharist, or understand what Eucharist is, or how to celebrate it.  This lecture of a three part series is to simplify what really is a beautiful simple prayer.

St. Mary’s Christmas Concert & Sing–a-long.

 Date: Sunday, December 14th, 2008 Time: 2 p.m. Ticket: $50 adult, $10 children under 12

Please join us in the celebration as many local vocalists and musicians perform holiday tunes inside this beautiful, historic country Church. Featuring performances on keyboard with vocals by Mike Duke, Mike Lipskin, Greg Lee and Antonia Vanbecker, Harpist Karen Morelli, Classical Vocalist Elizabeth Hertzverg, the rich blues voice of Mwanza Furaha and more. Fr. O’ has even promised a tune or two. A group sing-a-long of holiday favorites will surely get everyone in the Christmas spirit! Refreshments will be provided. Due to limited seating, advance reservations required. This concert is to support and maintain St. Mary Church, and to enjoy Christmas classical music and carols. Sock Drive. Now ‘til December 30th. Catechism students at St. Mary’s are collecting adult male socks for St. Vincent de Paul. The class will visit St. Vincent’s Dining Room on December 30th and will hand out the socks to the needy. Drop off at the parish hall/rectory or contact Margaret Farley.

St. Cecilia/St. Mary Annual Town Hall Meeting, Sunday, February 15th, 12 noon at the parish hall.  There will be only one Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia's for both parishes to attend.  Bring your ideas to the Town Hall Meeting. All parishioners are encouraged to come and support this important event.  Bring appetizers.

 Dave O’Connor will be receiving the Edie Robinson Community Service Award (ERCSA) at this year’s San Geronimo Valley Health Community Collaborative annual celebration BBQ. Dave has been a resident of Forest Knolls for the past 30 years.  He was nominated by the SGV Emergency Fund, “Whatever the event in the San Geronimo Valley, you will undoubtedly find Dave O’Connor there working and participating to serve our community.” The award ceremony and BBQ will be on Monday, June 8th, 5PM to 7PM at the San Geronimo Valley Community Center courtyard. Bocce – A Game of Fun, Strategy & Skill. Anyone can play and enjoy the game.  Closer is the basis of bocce. Whoever rolls the bocce ball closer to the little white balls gets a point. Twelve points makes a game. Bocce is a very social game, and the health benefit from Bocce is STRESS REDUCTION, plus a good, low impact walk and a few good bends to assure you that your legs will be more limber and flexible from playing the game. Our parish booked two courts at Marin Federation Bocce Courts, in Albert Park, San Rafael. We can bring lunch & beverages. Friday, July 31st, 12p.m. to 2 p.m. Sign up sheet at the back of the church.
